With his sculpture “LOVE IS THE DOPE OF HOPE”, the artist Frank Krüger created a modern and also important artwork. Especially in difficult times a positive, intoxicating love is the key to more strength and hope.
Frank was inspired by the artist Robert Indiana, who created the “LOVE” sculpture in New York. Frank “translated” this work in his own way.
Description
The sculpture consists of three identical steel elements that represent the word “love”. They are arranged one behind the other at a distance of 35 cm and connected with stainless steel. The love elements are designed in green, red and blue. Measured, the sculpture is 130 cm high, 70 cm deep and 140 cm wide.
The three different colours have been chosen deliberately. They represent hope (green), love (red) and drug / intoxication (blue).
The sculpture is exhibited in the Galeria Frank Krüger in Artà (Mallorca).
Interpretation of LOVE IS THE DOPE OF HOPE
For us humans, love is like an intoxicant, lubricant, a drug in a positive way. It is what drives us all. Love is especially important in difficult times. Times of hopelessness or sadness. In such moments, love can change and make everything easier.
If we feel or can give love, then we are happy. That is what life is all about. In this sense: give and receive love whenever you can!
